Investiture and Felicitation 2014

Flags symbolizing recognition and responsibility fluttered yet again in the radiant blue sky, as Presidency School, R. T. Nagar invested its leaders with the mantle of honour at the investiture and felicitation ceremony at the school campus on June 28, 2014.
The Chief Guest for the day was Dr. Aditya Sondhi, visiting faculty of National School of Law Bangalore,  the Secretary of Karnataka State Unit of the Indian Law institute and an leading advocate of Supreme Court and the High Court of Karnataka.

It was a day made specially for those who had rightfully earned the honour to be recognized in the presence of a big gathering – those cheers, the heart rendering applause, the broad smiles on the faces of the prize winners. All of this made it a unique day, as it does every year.

The day’s programme began with the lighting of the lamp by honourable Chief Guest, Dr. Aditya Sondhi and our respected Principal Indira Kothaneth. The School choir presented the invocation song, ‘Tamsoma Jyotiraghamai’ – O God lead us from darkness of ignorance to light of knowledge. The Chief Guest then felicitated the ICSE: Indian Certificate of Secondary Education: Indian Certificate of Secondary Education: Indian Certificate of Secondary Education: Indian Certificate of Secondary Education: Indian Certificate of Secondary Education topper Sanjana Acharya who secured an aggregate of 97% followed by Rakshit Sommana taking the second place with 96.67%. Students who scored 95% aggregate and toppers in various subjects were felicitated with medals and certificates. This year seventy five students appeared for ICSE: Indian Certificate of Secondary Education: Indian Certificate of Secondary Education: Indian Certificate of Secondary Education: Indian Certificate of Secondary Education: Indian Certificate of Secondary Education and all  seventy five passed successfully with distinction. Our respected Principal was proud to announce that the school average in ICSE: Indian Certificate of Secondary Education: Indian Certificate of Secondary Education: Indian Certificate of Secondary Education: Indian Certificate of Secondary Education: Indian Certificate of Secondary Education was 90.37%. It’s a matter of great pride that Presidency R. T. Nagar has surpassed all her past records. She congratulated the students and teachers for stupendous results in 2014.

Academic toppers between grade 5 to 9 were also felicitated with medals and certificates.

Felicitation ceremony was followed by Investiture ceremony. The Chief Guest and our Principal Indira Kothaneth pinned the insignia of office on all the student office bearers and extolled the virtues of the School to them. Sashes  were presented to the School Captain, Megha Radha Krishnan of grade 10 and Vice captain of school, Sai Karthik. It was a momentous occasion as the newly elected office bearers pledged to discharge their duties with loyalty, diligence and integrity. House flags were handed over to the four respective house captains. Our Principal administered the Oath to the newly elected cabinet members.

Dr. Aditya Sondhi in his keynote address to students advised the toppers and high scorers to take their journey of knowledge to greater heights. Quoting T.S. Eliot he said, ‘Drink deep at the fountain of knowledge’ and reminded the students that the more one knows, the less he knows. He reiterated that one ought to continue his learning life long to attain perfection in life. The Chief Guest urged the new leaders to follow discipline in every walk of life, and motivated the newly elected leaders to keep an open mind to go ahead in life. He stressed that great heights are not attained by sudden flight but by continuous and persistent struggle. He advised the newly elected leaders to sustain their sense of responsibility in discharging their duties.

A group dance highlighting celebrating life and joy of living was presented by students of Grade eight. Megha Radhakrishnan, the School Captain proposed the vote of thanks.
